Founded in 1972, the law firm of Jacoby & Meyers is committed to making lawyers and the legal system more accessible and affordable for the average person.

When Jacoby & Meyers was founded, professionals were not allowed to advertise or publicly discuss their practices. This lack of information and open competition kept fees artificially high and gave lawyers little incentive to operate efficiently or at the convenience of their clients.

Realizing the need for change, the law firm of Jacoby & Meyers spearheaded the landmark Supreme Court case Jacoby & Meyers vs. California Supreme Court, consequently protecting the rights of free speech and the public's right to be informed. These pioneering efforts removed prohibitions and opened the doors for professional commercial advertising of legal services.

Jacoby & Meyers began to raise public awareness of the many affordable legal services that are readily available to those not being adequately served by the legal profession.

As clients pursued (or sought) the quality legal services provided by Jacoby & Meyers, the firm experienced an increased volume of clientele. Jacoby & Meyers further recognized the need for a full-service law firm designed to handle the legal concerns of its clients while charging reasonable fees.
